Family education and support

Eating disorders affect the people around you too. Family education is part of the program, not an afterthought.

Support for the people who love someone in treatment

Loved ones are often central to recovery, and those relationships can be complicated. Families arrive carrying worry, guilt, and a lot of questions about what to say at the dinner table. Our family programming exists to answer them.

With your consent, family education and communication support are built into your treatment. That can mean sessions with our family therapist, guidance on how to support meals at home, and help understanding what recovery realistically looks like over months rather than days.

What families get
  • Education about eating disorders, co-occurring conditions, and how treatment works
  • Practical language: what tends to help, and what tends to backfire
  • Support around meals, boundaries, and relapse warning signs
  • A clear picture of what happens after the program ends

Our guides go deeper: how to help someone with an eating disorder and a family's guide to IOP.
