Community Support

End isolation with our compassionate, supportive, and EmpowerED community.

Eating disorders can be extremely isolating, and isolation can be a breeding ground for shame. There are numerous ways that a sense of community and belonging can begin to combat experiences that so often accompany our eating disorder.

  • Building healthy and satisfying relationships helps us learn to lean on others instead of on our eating disorder.

  • We receive acknowledgment and support from our community that can help validate our experiences and decrease shame.

  • We find compassion for others who are going through similar situations, and in turn, learn how to find that same compassion for ourselves.

  • We become inspired by others as we watch their journey unfold. We also get to witness and support others as they run into and overcome barriers.

  • As we interact with others, we see how we often show up in relationships. This enables us to face social fears and develop social skills, such as conflict resolution and communication.

From fellow clients and staff to family and alumni, feel the power of a community centered around healing.
